Peace in Trust

Following a bad night after a rough week, I had a very encouraging quiet time this morning.

From Jesus Calling by Sarah Young:
“Seek My Face, and you will find not only My Presence but also My Peace. To receive My Peace, you must change your grasping, controlling stance to one of openness and trust. The only thing you can grasp without damaging your soul is My hand. Ask My Spirit within you to order your day and control your thoughts, for the mind controlled by the Spirit is Life and Peace. You can have as much of Me and My peace as you want, through thousands of correct choices each day. The most persistent choice you face is whether to trust Me or to worry. You will never run out of things to worry about, but you can choose to trust Me no matter what. I am an ever-present help in trouble. Trust Me, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.”
Romans 8:6 “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (NKJV). Psalm 46:1-2 “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.” (NKJV).

My thoughts:
Wow! This is just what I need to be reminded of and encouraged in. God is so good!

When I read this and wrote my brief thoughts on it, I was thinking of how rough the week had been and the bad night and rough start to the morning. I had no idea how hard today would be…but God did! He prepared me with what I needed. The Lord knew I needed hope and help to get through today. Today has been worse than the last several days and it has been a challenge to trust rather than to doubt and fear. Multiple times today I have pleaded in tears with the Lord to help me trust as I cannot do so on my own. He is faithful!
